Waxing FAQ

  • Hair should be at least 1/4 inch long (about the length of a grain of rice). This ensures the wax can grip the hair properly and pull it from the root. Shorter hair may break during removal, increasing the risk of ingrown hairs.

    • Exfoliate 48 hours before your appointment.

      • Exfoliating loosens the hair follicle, making removal easier and more comfortable. Avoid exfoliating on the day of your appointment, as this can make your skin more sensitive.

  • Consistency is key! The more regularly you wax (without shaving in between), the finer and sparser your hair becomes. Finer hair = less pain and faster services over time.

  • Yes, 100%. Waxing removes hair from the root, giving you longer-lasting smooth skin and significantly reducing the likelihood of razor bumps and ingrowns.

    • Body waxing: Every 4–5 weeks

    • Facial waxing: Every 3–4 weeks

      • Facial hair tends to grow back faster than body hair.

  • The Brazilian service is quick and efficient—typically around 15–20 minutes. You’ll need to undress from the waist down. Don’t worry—this is a routine service for estheticians, and our priority is to make you feel comfortable and confident.

  • Yes! It is completely safe, but be aware that you may be more sensitive during pregnancy.

  • Yes, but please wear a tampon during your appointment. Keep in mind you may also be more sensitive at this time.

  • No. The wax I use is gentle, and I apply aloe vera after each service to soothe the skin. Breakouts are uncommon.

  • I use a pink film hard wax from Miss Cire, specifically formulated for sensitive skin. It works effectively on all hair types—short, thin, or coarse—while minimizing pain and irritation.

  • Yes, trimming is included with all bikini services.

    • I carry The Ingrown Potion No. 2 by Waxing Lovely.

      • This intensive Tamanu Oil Blend helps prevent ingrown hairs and bumps and also works to fade scars.

  • Men are welcome to book any waxing service except bikini/Brazilian.

  • Please avoid waxing if you have:

    • Visible skin trauma or lesions

    • Open wounds, Keloids or hypertrophic scarring Sunburn

    • Very dry or compromised skin

    • Used retinol within the last 48 hours
